TAG has provided official timing services for a host of prestigious sporting events throughout the twentieth century - starting with all Olympic Games of the 1920's and continuing with Formula 1 automobile racing since 1969.
Today the name is widely recognized as the world leader in Swiss sport watches and chronographs. Since 1860, the name has also been known for technological innovation in precision timepieces. So it's no surprise that the esteemed watchmaking house has provided official timing services for a host of prestigious sporting events from the Olympic Games in the 20s to competitive world of alpine skiing and Formula 1 racing in the 90s.
Company founder Edouard Heuer's efforts toward sports watches and chronographs date back to 1860. Many sporting events including the Olympic Games, FIS Ski World Cup, and FIA Formula 1 World Championship have used TAG Heuer for official timing services.
Watch Maintenance
Buying a TAG watch is often an important investment, so understanding each aspect of your watch is equally important.
About every three years, you should have your watch cleaned and serviced. For automatic watches, you'll need your battery changed, and for mechanical watches, you should have all the moving parts inspected and cleaned. For TAG watches with water resistant seals, you should have the resistance checked annually using pressure equipment, and the seals should be changed as well. As far as care, you should always check the case and bracelet for wear if you expose them to chemicals or harsh environments. Cosmetics and perfume can also damage these components, as well as the rest of the watch.
